Pathfinder Shirts began in 1992. Dick Zeiter, just coming off a 12 year stint as a Disc Jockey at wedding receptions, wanted to return to attending Bluegrass Festivals, a music he fell in love with 15 years earlier. His new wife Charlene, anxious to get out of the house and travel, eagerly joined him and also grew to like Bluegrass Music. While Dick loved the music, he could not stand to sit on a lawn chair from noon until almost midnight watching and listening. He tended to wander and visit with the various vendors surrounding the concert area. He finally realized that if he was going to be able to listen to Bluegrass Music, he'd have to become a vendor so he would have something to do while listening to the music. Having helped a T-Shirt Vendor at several festivals in Georgia and North Carolina, he chose to sell clothing. Pathfinder Shirts (of Ohio) now travels to six to eight Bluegrass Festivals a year selling their vast selection of non-dated, Bluegrass designed shirts, jackets and kids clothes. At several of the festivals, Dick produces and prints (on site) Dated Festival Shirts for the fans to purchase as souvenirs. While working primarily in the Great Lakes area because he has not yet retired from his job with a garage door company, he and his wife will travel further if the projected sales will cover the fuel expenses of the trip. Occasionally they will take on a festival that won't meet expenses, but, sounds like fun and/or will permit an interesting side trip.
